Dr. Josh Turknett, MD
Creator of the Brainjo Method

Dr. Josh Turknett is a neurologist, musician, and the founder of Brainjo, where science and music education come together.

He is the creator of the Brainjo Method—the first neuroscience-based system of musical instruction designed specifically for adult learners—and the author of The Laws of Brainjo: The Art & Science of Molding a Musical Mind.

Josh plays multiple instruments including banjo, fiddle, guitar, and piano, has won stringband and banjo contests, and has also appeared on the cover of Banjo Newsletter. Alongside Justin Manglitz, he performs as half of the band The Georgia Jays.

Together, Adam and Josh combine master musicianship with a deep understanding of how adults learn, so you’re not just learning fiddle—you’re learning in a way that finally makes sense.
